Holy Week 2013 #Instagram

Hello lovies!! Happy April 1st!: ) Hope you had a great time during the Holy Week. Well, in my case, I again, decided not to go home to the province. I just didn’t want to join the travel rush plus I’d be attending the college homecoming next week anyway so that’s probably the best time to be there. Unlike last year’s “heartbreaking” Lenten Season, this time was more chill. I already took the day off as early as 1:00 PM of Wednesday. Uh, below are photos taken from my Instagram account showing how I spent the four-day break. photo cover-1_zps8f4f3653.jpg Continue Reading →

It’s that Time of the Year

After 2012, Holy Week always meant something else. Not just the spiritual retreat of this Catholic country but a memory that stems to a much deeper reason.

That specific dawn’s pain will remain unanswered until I don’t know when – eternity I guess.

And if you ask me why I am still writing about it now, the response would be as simple as a scar that has never been healed – yet. The cut was just too deep.

I am aware that I walked to the edge of the cliff which caused my downfall; I know that it was a risk I had to take; and I fully knew the uncertainties attached to all my actions. Maybe, just maybe, I didn’t want to live with regrets and what ifs. I had to swallow my pride for something humiliating and impossible. Despite the unpleasant outcome, it unexpectedly felt good – not the pain definitely – but the idea of directly getting to say everything you felt.

It’s been a year already and in those twelve months that passed, I never failed to remind myself to go on with life and just leave everything as if it didn’t happen. But honestly, it’s always easier said than done. I know from experience that given the right amount of time, everything will be history. I don’t want to forget the person though as much as I want to forget the pain and these are theories I know I would have a hard time dealing with.

Again, let me say how much I trust time. It has always proved its worth and in this case, I know it wouldn’t fail me. What’s important to me is that I know I will never regret anything I’ve done. It’s something like studying 101% for an exam yet got a 99% – you know you did your best. I will always have the peace in me because I never lied and I never faked what I felt.

Well, let me end this by saying that there are no accidents in God’s timeline. If a plan didn’t work out then there must be something better ahead because after all, happiness is what our God always wanted for us.<3

Despite not being Catholic, I wish everyone a meaningful Holy Week. I hope we all get to reflect on our lives and come out refreshed and ready to face a new day.

What’s in My Bag: Version 0313

Hello lovies!!<3 After more than a year, I finally got to make a post on one of my favorite topics: What’s in My Bag #WiMB. I think this is the 3rd on this category wherein the first you can read HERE and the second HERE.
Ok! So let’s start with the bag. I usually use different bags in a typical work week. The bag I’m going to show now is what I was using during the time I did the “shoot”. LOL. In short, nagkataon lang na ito yung ginamit ko that day. Basically random. Anyway, this is a Liz Claiborne striped tote bag. I love how the green highlights spell summer!<3

Seri Pacific Hotel | Kuala Lumpur | 1.4-5.13

Prologue
After a five-hour bus ride from Singapore, we arrived Kuala Lumpur around 4:30 AM. By the way, this was how the SGD32.00 service looked like! Indeed you will never get bored and uncomfortable on long trips!
Loved it.: ) Hindi naman halata na Hagardo Versoza na ako diba?:D By the way, apologies for the inferior quality of all the photos in this post. Was too lazy to use the camera so I had to always settle for the tab.

Because it was too early and dark to walk around, we decided to kill time by having breakfast at KFC-Pudu Sentral. Trivia: This fast food chain is where tourists and backpackers usually spend time when they arrive KL before daylight because the bus stop is just located a few meters from this 24-hour KFC. The view that met us when we entered were tables full of sleeping and hungry travelers and we just made an addition to the chaos.; ) I especially loved how they had Blueberry Pancakes!!<3 We headed to our hotel when the train station opened.

Join the Running Revolution with Adidas Energy Boost

I haven’t been really the conventional runner. I even started getting into this hobby only in college and it wasn’t even the real thing. I would only jog every morning around 5:00 AM for about 30-45 minutes. But it was definitely a good start because from then on, running became something I always looked for. It was when I started working that I began to join fun runs. During my first official run way back in 2011, I realized how helpful my jogging routine in college was.

During running events, I usually jog on the first 3/4 km of the route and speed up on the last 1/4. The latter is usually the most crucial part because energy levels are a but subsiding already. So what I usually do is this: I drink a small amount of ionized water or chew a piece of candy, max my iPod with the most upbeat song in my playlist (I dunno if  this holds true to you as well but everytime I play a fast-paced song, it’s like a current that makes my feet run faster…psychological thing probably) then I run with every strength and speed left to the finish line. ;D

I used to imagine and wish that there were running shoes that would make you fly or run faster. Seriously! It sounded absurd and impossible though. Not until this very moment! For real? Is there such thing already? Yessir! Adidas recently launched the most modern running shoes yet called the Energy Boost. This new technology of kick-ass sneakers

…allows the runner to feel a continuous energy return. It allows small energy capsules in the soles to store and unleash energy more efficiently with every stride.

Aside from that, the condition and comfort elements of these shoes were enhanced in a way that as Adidas promised, “running will never be the same again.” Exciting right? Now if you want to own a pair of these very techy kicks, you’ve got to hurry because it is only limited to 200 pairs in the PI this season. Good news is, 100 pairs can be pre-ordered before it will officially be displayed at the Adidas BGC store on February 27. So click the photo below to be one of the first to own a pair of the newest Adidas Energy Boost.

Sun Cellular’s Name Ur Number Sim

About a year ago Sun Cellular first met with the bloggers of CDO to promote the coverage expansion of the network in Mindanao.

Last Monday, February 11, 2013, another opportunity came up for both parties to meet again through a fellowship dinner at Seafood Island Restaurant – Ayala Centrio. It was literally a full night! Aside from the great food and the great people, what made it more exciting was the introduction of Sun Cellular’s Name ur Numer SIM. All bloggers were given a freebie package containing their very own ‘personalizable’ (what the H is this word??) sim card and other cute items. Thank you Sun Cellular for the wonderful night and for making bloggers part of you marketing initiatives.: )

Cherry Mobile Flare Review

About a month ago, I already planned to get an extra phone for a Sun Cellular number. I just didn’t want an ‘extra’ phone. I wanted it to be a useful phone as well. So I surfed the internet for prospect units and ended up choosing between the Cherry Mobile Titan and the Cherry Mobile Flare. It was quite challenging because both units had really good specs for the prices attached to them. I even personally compared both phones by borrowing a Flare and a Titan from my friends. To make it short, I ended up with the Cherry Mobile Flare whose review I shall be sharing in a bit. I am not a tech blogger so apologies if this wouldn’t satisfy all information you might want to know. But I shall try to make it read-worthy as possible.: )

To start with, the Cherry Mobile Flare retails at Php3,999 but I got mine for free through Sun Cellular’s Fixed Load Plan PhP350.00. With this monthly payment, I get unlimited Sun-Sun calls and texts and 250 texts to other networks. Not bad at all!: ) Let’s get to the meat of this post: The Review.

Singapore Night Safari 1.2.13

The trip from Melaka to Singapore took about 4 hours and I was asleep most of the time. The bus ride which passed through different sceneries seemed like forever though – probably because of the excitement of getting to another country. The immigration was located at Johor Bahru  – the last city that borders Malaysia and Singapore. It was raining real hard when we were nearing JB and continued even until SG. What I regret during this 4-hour trip was not being able to notice that we already passed the Johor-Singapore Causeway.:( I would’ve wanted to see the view surrounding the notable structure. Sighs.

Rain was still pouring hard when we hopped off the bus along ‘I forgot the name of the street’ in Singapore around 8:00 in the evening.  Unfortunately, we had no umbrella so the only choice was to get wet. We were a bit soaked when we got to the nearest money changer to have our Ringgit converted. By then, we were already hungry. Thank goodness for a nearby 7-Eleven, we were able to score microwaved food. From there, we rode a cab to our hotel, took a short rest, then prepared for the Night Safari tour. Because it was already 9:00 PM something when we left the hotel, we decided to take a cab to be able to take the 11:00 PM tour. Admission fee costs SGD35.00 or around PhP1000.00.

The Diverse City of Malacca, Malaysia #PhotoDiary 1.2.13

Before the photo dumping begins, let me just share a brief background of Melaka as quoted from Wikipedia.

Malacca (Malay: Melaka, dubbed “The Historic State” ) is the third smallest Malaysian state after Perlis and Penang. It is located in the southern region of the Malay Peninsula, next to the Straits of Malacca. It borders Negeri Sembilan to the north and Johor to the south. The capital is Malacca City, which is 148 km south east of Malaysia’s capital city Kuala Lumpur, 235 km north west to Johor’s largest city Johor Bahru, and 95 km north west to Johor’s second largest city Batu Pahat. This historical city centre has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 7 July 2008. Although it was the location of one of the earliest Malay sultanates, the monarchy was abolished when the Portuguese conquered it in 1511. The head of state is the Yang di-Pertua Negeri or Governor, rather than a Sultan.

Because we had to leave for Singapore at 3:30PM, only two hours was allocated for the Melaka tour which was actually not enough! As much as we wanted to walk around the whole place and see more of the tourist sites, we were only limited to the central area. Nevertheless, the experience was still nostalgic.: ) By the way, from the bus station, you can take a cab to go around Melaka.
Somehow, Melaka can be compared to the Philippines in terms of colonization. It was under four different governments namely the Portuguese, the Dutch, the British, and the Japanese until they gained Malayan Federalism in 1948. photo 8q_zpse9874393.jpg

Getting to Malacca from Kuala Lumpur 1.2.13

Before anything else, I just want to say how regretful I am for not taking notes while on the road. I could have made a more detailed guide on the foregoing post.:/ Well, I’ll just have to settle with what I remembered.
Where did I end my last entry by the way? Anyone?  A cab. Right. So initially, we thought we could just ride the cab to TBS Bus Station. TBS means Terminal Bersepadu Selatan. It is where we would be taking the bus to Malacca. I shall elaborate more on TBS later.
