Prologue to an Unforgettable Week

It’s around 11:30 of January 6, 2013 and I am as excited as a child getting a new Barbie doll to start this series of blog posts on a recent trip I had with one of my best friends. I decided to write a prologue because I know I would be out of words to describe every day of the backpacking trip because honestly, it mesmerized me. I remember back when I was a kid, I always found it amazing to watch movies which evolved around the culture of other countries and the culture of other Filipino tribes as well. I was always filled with curiosity on how they do things and stuff. Fast forward to 2012, I finally got the chance to go on my first out of the country trip. Too late for a 26-year old girl huh? LOL. I don’t care. What can I do? I spent about 14 years getting good grades and the next 4 years building up my career. And now, I guess it’s about time to give myself a break and explore the world! How is that?: )

After a week of backpacking, aside from shoulder bruises and leg pain, I gained a very meaningful, mind-gasmic, experience. A kind of satisfaction money can never buy. And this trip was worth every cent spent on it. Now I know the feeling of getting rich not in terms of how much you have in the bank but on the irreplaceable moments you get in seeing other sides of the world. And I tell you! Traveling is addictive! Right now, I’m even thinking of where to go next (after I save enough moolah again of course).

I am inviting you to go on a journey with me as I share to you a week filled with fun, excitement, and learning. You might want to see how we lived on fast food for almost a week; how we entered Singapore‘s bus using the exit door; how we had to switch train stations a couple of times; how amazed I was with the Malayan Tiger; how I fell in love with the Petronas Towers; and many more awesome moments.: )

As St. Augustine once said, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

Want more of these photos? Don’t hesitate to come back and see how two girls walked in the sun and ran in the rain just for the love of exploring.<3

  1. You still have a lot to see here in SG. Come back soon and from here you can go to nearby islands such as Indonesia (Bintan & Batam via ferry or Bali via plane) or you can go to Phuket. :)
